Tuesday evening is our laundry time. I bring the hamper down into the laundry room. It is filled with soiled, nasty, messy clothes ( from yard work, changing oil, and switching tires).

I am reminded of our sins and our need to bring our dirty laundry to God and clean out our closets with filthy items from our past. God will forgive us and remove our sin from us “as far as the east is from the west“ ( Ps 103:12).

Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

We serve an amazing God who can make all things new. He does not excuse our shortcomings, compromise his standards, disregard our rebellion, or relax his demands.

Rather than dismiss our shortcomings, he shoulders our sin and, incredibly, sentences himself.

God’s holiness is honoured. Our sin is punished….and we are redeemed.

Rev 21:5 (NKJV) - Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

I love the smell of fresh laundry - it’s refreshing , but the hamper starts to pile up again!

Have a joyful week with Jesus…His love is fresh!
