Finding Healing in Broken Relationships
Dear Bramalea Family,
" See how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”
~Psalm 133:1
Can you extend forgiveness when deeply wronged? Joseph's story in Genesis reveals the tension between justice and grace as he faces the brothers who sold him into slavery. Instead of seeking revenge, Joseph tests their character and ultimately chooses reconciliation, reflecting God's redemptive plan.
Misunderstanding and pride often divides us from loved ones. But Joseph's example teaches unity, which requires humility, love, and trust in God's plan. When we surrender our hurts to Him, He empowers us to forgive and restore relationships.
It says that hanging on to bitter feelings induces high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and other devastating health problems( see Katia Reinert, "The Influence of Forgiveness on Health and Healing," 2021, www.academiaedu/87516855/). Bitterness and resentment are some of Satan's most successful strongholds. When we withhold forgiveness, we become imprisoned and tormented by past. The Christian who has been wronged in any way must, through Christ's help, learn to forgive. It's easier said than done, but it is essential for true freedom.
Let this story remind you to seek peace in strained relationships. Lean on God for the strength to forgive and show grace, trusting He can bring beauty out of brokenness and let The power of the Holy Spirit sets us free from our past hurts.
