Church Happens at Tim Hortons

We went to church after a full day at church. Hows that?

Well, after spending the day at Bramalea church, a group of friends gathered at our local Tim Hortons for the evening. Some of us are retired and there are some who are almost retiring, and those who are still working. We invite and see who comes.

At the core of these gatherings is where our natural selves come out. We talk about a lot of things unfiltered.

We laugh hard and loud, we share, we unburden ourselves… and last nite we had a group call to someone who was admitted at the hospital. We made her day, after assuring her that we had prayed for her and will continue to pray.

Through our shared challenges and frustrations - our failures, our bungled plans, our heartaches and even our breaking bodies…we comfort each other. We also share our triumphs, our future plans - the next adventure.

We talk about any topic that comes up. How is life in retirement? Some making joke remarks that work is a hindrance to having this fun gatherings. Ike always talking about his passion - cars, bikes and his ATV.

Everyone is comfortable! Well, the warm and cold drinks are soothing!

In our exchanges we are reminded that we have an amazing Heavenly Father who is in control and takes care of us.

Church happened away from church tonite!

At the end of the evening, we say our good byes and wish everyone to have a great week in Jesus. We all leave with a big smile on our faces…the drive home to Fergus is pleasant. Looking forward to the next gathering, are you in?

Ecc. 4:9-12 (NLT) - ”Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken."

Have a wonderful week in Jesus…He never turns his back on us!
